Kelsey Quail '17 started her season campaign off on a strong note, as she netted two goals and dished out a pair of assists on the road against the Warriors in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on March 8. She had a hand in all three of EC's first-half goals, as she tallied one-and-a-half minutes into the game, before assisting on goals from Macy Huntley '19 and Rachael Goetz '20. Despite a lopsided final score of 18-9, those early points had the Soaring Eagles on the heels of the Warriors in the opening half. Her early goal tied the game at 1-1 and her assists helped bring EC within two each time, the latter at 5-3.
The Cortland, New York, native not only led the team in points in the season-opening bout, but her four points tied her previous single-game high, which she set on March 17, 2015, against the University of Rochester. Quail also collected four ground balls, one shy of the game high, a team-leading three draw controls, and caused one turnover.
The senior midfielder will look to guide the Soaring Eagles past the Bengals of Buffalo State in Elmira's next contest on Wednesday, March 15. EC will travel to Buffalo, New York, for a non-conference matchup, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
