Lindsay Wargo '17 capped off her collegiate career by breaking the EC women's lacrosse career saves record, which was set 10 years ago by Malorie Stockwell '07. The Madison, Connecticut, native made a combined 15 saves in two starts against St. John Fisher College and Houghton College, bringing her four-year total to 383, eclipsing Stockwell's total by two.
In the final home game of her Elmira career on April 26 against the Cardinals, Wargo registered 11 saves, marking the seventh game of the 2017 season in which she has reached double figures. Then on April 29 in Houghton, New York, the 5-foot-5-inch goalie made four saves in an overtime loss to the Highlanders.
This season the senior netminder accumulated 131 saves, a figure that ranks sixth in the program's all-time record book. Wargo will leave Elmira with two of the top-six single-season save totals, as the 155 rejections she made as a sophomore in 2015 ranks fourth. Wargo's name has been solidified in several other categories as well, as she finishes her career fifth in wins (11) and sixth in goals-against average (13.65).
