Similarly to her baseball counterpart, Emily Clark '19 has impressed this past week with her exhibition of power. The 5-foot-11-inch infielder went 6-for-21 (.286) with three of those hits being home runs. She also added a team-high nine RBIs, six runs and a double to her strong stat line for the week. Clark's stellar play began in the twin bill against Alfred State on Thursday, April 26. In the opener against the Pioneers, the Trumbull, Connecticut, native went 2-for-2 from the plate with three RBIs, one homer and one double to guide EC to an 8-0 win. In the nightcap, she again homered, in addition to logging three runs and two RBIs in a 10-0 Elmira victory. The final home run of the week came against the Saxons of Alfred University on Saturday, when she belted a three-run blast to center field to cap off the week.
For the season, Clark leads Elmira in slugging percentage (.649), RBIs (18), extra-base hits (10), home runs (4) and doubles (4). With her stellar junior season, Clark has progressed up a few of EC's all-time leaderboards. Her four home runs are tied for sixth-most in single-season program history, while her seven career dingers are tied with Lauryn DePaul '10 for sixth in that category.
Clark and the Soaring Eagles end the season with a road doubleheader against SUNY Canton on Wednesday, May 2, in Canton, New York. The first of the two non-league bouts is slated to start at 3:00 p.m.
