Emily SelbertĀ '20 helped the EC field hockey team secure a 2-1 victory on the road over Brockport on Wednesday, October 3. A junior midfielder from Buffalo, New York, Selbert collected a season- and career-high three points against the Golden Eagles. She dished out her team-leading fourth assist of the year on the first goal of the night, scored byĀ Kaylee GillĀ '22 in the 15th minute. Selbert then produced the first game-winner of her three-year career in the 49th minute off of a penalty corner to lift the Purple and Gold to their third consecutive victory, tying the program's longest win streak since 2015.
Through the first 10 games of the season, Selbert is fourth on the team with six points (1g-4a), and her four assists are tied for seventh-most in the Empire 8 Conference. She'll look to lead the Soaring Eagles to a fourth straight win on Tuesday, October 9, when Elmira faces Nazareth on the road at 7:00 p.m.
