From EC's nationally-ranked women's ice hockey team, Morgan Mordini '22 has been on a tear as of late. The second-year forward accumulated an eye-popping eight points in three games last week while helping the Soaring Eagles outscore their opponents by a combined 22-0. Mordini, who posted a pair of four-point games in routs of Morrisville State and Chatham, dished out a career-high three assists in the win over the Mustangs, before netting her first hat trick against the Cougars.
Although her five-game point streak came to an end in Sunday's blowout win over Lebanon Valley, Mordini has already recorded career highs in points (17), goals (7), and assists (10) this season.
Mordini and the No. 4-ranked Soaring Eagles will play their next six games on the road. The road swing begins on Friday, January 31, when Elmira visits Manhattanville College for a matchup between the United Collegiate Hockey Conference's (UCHC) top teams from the North and South Divisions. Puck drop is set for 3:00 p.m. at the Playland Ice Casino.
