For the No. 4 nationally-ranked women's ice hockey team, Claire Meeder '23 produced the second multi-point and first multi-goal game of her young career on Saturday, as the Soaring Eagles trounced King's (Pa.) on the road by a 9-0 final score. The first-year forward from Woodbury, Minnesota, potted two goals against the Monarchs, including a glove-side snipe into the upper corner from the right faceoff dot in the third period.
With a combined three goals in her last two outings, Meeder ranks third among Elmira's talented rookie class with five points (4g-1a), all of which have come against United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) opponents.
The fourth-ranked Elmira women return to the ice on Friday, February 14, when they visit archrival and top-ranked Plattsburgh State. The Soaring Eagles and Cardinals are set to clash at 7:00 p.m. inside Plattsburgh's Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.
