On the hardwood, Rashaad Nurse '22 continued his run of exceptional play with another strong week, during which he averaged 16.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. He reached double figures against both opponents, as the second-year big man from Queens, New York, poured in a career-high 23 points to guide the Soaring Eagles to a 74-68 win over Sage and added 10 points against Utica. Against the Gators, Nurse also amassed career bests with 14 rebounds and four blocks for his third double-double of the year.
Nurse has scored double-digit points in each of his last 10 games, a remarkable run that began nearly a month ago on January 6. Since then, he's increased his scoring average by 4.6 points to 10.6 points per game, the second-highest on the team.
EC's four-game homestand draws to a close with a pair of Empire 8 Conference games this weekend, beginning on Friday, February 7, when the Soaring Eagles take on Nazareth at 5:30 p.m. on Pat Thompson '75 Court at Speidel Gymnasium.
