Connor Powell '20 and the EC men's ice hockey team added two more UCHC victories to their ledger by dispatching King's (Pa.) on Friday by a 9-0 score, before edging Wilkes, 3-2, on Saturday night. The former All-American forward amassed six points (2g-4a), highlighted by a season-high four points on two goals and two assists against the Monarchs. Powell added assists on two power-play goals in the narrow win over the Colonels, including the primary helper on the game-winning goal.
With points in each of his last five outings, the pride of Merrimack, New Hampshire, now boasts 24 points (9g-15a) on the season. He leads all Soaring Eagles and ranks fourth in the conference in power-play points with 14.
The Elmira men will also hit the road for a pair of UCHC contests this weekend. On Friday, January 31, the Soaring Eagles will make to trek to Rye, New York, to face the Valiants of Manhattanville at 7:00 p.m.
