Lindsey Heaton '19 averaged a team-high 14.0 points for EC in a 2-0 week against a pair of non-conference opponents. Her scoring prowess helped the senior from New Milford, Connecticut, extend her streak with double-digit points to seven games in a row, making her the only Soaring Eagle to reach double figures in every contest this year.
The fourth-year point guard began her week with a strong shooting performance in a road win over Clarks Summit on November 27. Heaton finished 7-of-8 from the field (87.5 percent) and was a perfect 3-for-3 from the foul line en route to a team-leading 18 points against the Defenders. She also dished out five assists, secured four rebounds and logged a pair of steals for a defensive unit that limited Clarks Summit to a mere 21 points in a lopsided 65-21 victory. In a 58-45 triumph versus Wells on November 30, Heaton ended a rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds, the latter of which marks a season-high.
On the year, Heaton paces the Purple and Gold with 14.9 points and 3.0 assists per game. She ranks among the Empire 8 Conference leaders in points, assists, and steals (2.6), and leads all players in the conference with 37.3 minutes per contest.
Heaton and the EC women's basketball team continue non-league action on Saturday, December 8, when the Soaring Eagles host Pennsylvania College of Technology inside Speidel Gymnasium at 2:00 p.m.
