Savannah Terry '21, a third-year middle blocker from Owego, New York, turned in a pair of monster performances against Empire 8 Conference opponents Sage and Utica. In both matches combined, she posted team highs in attack percentage (.586), blocks (11), and was second in kills (18) and aces (3). Offensively, she was near-perfect, committing only one error on 29 swings.
In a four-set home win against the Gators on Friday night, Terry flirted with triple-double numbers. She filled the box score with a team-high-tying 11 kills, eight digs and seven blocks. Her .556 attack percentage, dig and block totals each represented single-match season highs. The following afternoon in Elmira's straight-set triumph at Utica, Terry re-set her season-best attack percentage, flooring seven kills without an error for a .636 success rate.
Throughout her junior season, Terry has been one of Elmira's most consistent performers. She ranks among the top-10 in the E8 in attack percentage (.248) and blocks (47), and ranks second on the team in kills (129) and aces (28).
The Soaring Eagles are set for their 2019 home finale, which will take place inside Speidel Gymnasium on Wednesday, October 16, when EC takes on SUNY Delhi in a 6:00 p.m. non-conference match.
