Kassi Hastings '21 guided the EC women's volleyball team to a 3-0 victory in their lone match of the week against SUNY Delhi on Wednesday, October 16. Aided by the junior setter's performance, the Elmira offensive hit at a rate of .218, the team's seventh-best attacking percentage of the season, while the Soaring Eagles swept their opponent in straight sets for the fourth time.
Against the Broncos, Hastings dished out a match-high 32 assists, her eighth-highest total of the season, while finishing in a tie for second on the team with six digs. She also contributed one of Elmira's dozen service aces and was successful on two of her three attack attempts, equaling a .667 hitting percentage.
Entering the final weekend of E8 play, Hastings ranks fifth in the conference in assists per set (7.28), second on the team in digs (176), and third in aces (22), all of which are career highs.
Hastings and the Soaring Eagles will play a pair of Empire 8 matches in Rochester, New York, this weekend, beginning with a 5:00 p.m. tilt against first-place St. John Fisher College on Friday, October 5.
