Janie Kempf '21 maintained her team lead in scoring by notching three points (1g-1a) in a pair of conference contests last week. She also extended her point streak to a season- and career-long four consecutive games.
Against the E8 regular-season champions from St. John Fisher, Kempf logged her fourth assist of the year on a pass to Kylie Rosen '23, who leveled the score at 1-all momentarily in the third quarter. In the home finale against Nazareth on Saturday, the junior from New Woodstock, New York, potted her team-leading ninth goal to even the score at 1-1 in the fourth quarter and force overtime.
With one game remaining in the 2019 season, Kempf has already set a new single-season career-high with 22 points (9g-4a). She ranks seventh in the Empire 8 in goals and eighth in points.
Kempf and the Soaring Eagles will travel to Albany, New York, to face Sage in the last game of the year. The Gators will host the bout at the University at Albany at 7:00 p.m.
