Elizabeth Hanson '21 earned the starting nod between the pipes for the No. 5-ranked Soaring Eagles in the first round of the Lake Forest Invite against the host Foresters. She did not disappoint, as the junior goaltender logged her third consecutive shutout to start the season. The Stoughton, Massachusetts, native made a career-high 31 saves in the victory and held the Foresters scoreless on a pair of power-play chances.
On the national leaderboards, Hanson is the only qualified goalie in all of Division III with a perfect 0.00 goals-against average and a 1.000 save percentage, and she's one of eight goalies with a 1.000 win percentage. She's also tied for first place in shutouts alongside fellow United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) goalies Noelle Giroux from Nazareth College and Helen Cooney from Neumann University.
