Mason Weir '21 logged two of the highest-scoring games of his collegiate career for the EC men's basketball team last week. He finished the week with a team-high 16.0 points per game after netting a career-high 17 points on the road against Penn College on Tuesday, November 26. In a home bout versus Hilbert College on Saturday, November 30, the junior from Laurens, New York, poured in 15 more points with season highs in rebounds (5) and assists (3). He also paced the team with three 3-pointers in each game.
After making his fourth consecutive start on Saturday, Weir has lifted his points-per-game average to a career-high 9.8, the third-best on the team. He leads the Purple and Gold with 12 treys and is tied for seventh in the Empire 8 Conference with 2.0 3-point field goals per contest.
Weir and the Elmira men's basketball team will take an extended break before traveling to Westminster, Maryland, to face McDaniel College on Sunday, December 15, at 3:00 p.m.
