Elizabeth Hanson '21 started both games in goal for the No. 7 Soaring Eagles against No. 3 Norwich, going 1-0-1 with a 0.48 goals-against average and .983 save percentage in 125:00 minutes against the Cadets. The third-year goalie logged her fourth shutout of the season with a career-high 33 saves on Monday, January 6, when EC battled the Cadets in a scoreless draw on their home ice in the 10th annual East-West Hockey Classic. Then on Saturday at the Murray Athletic Center, she allowed just one goal and posted 25 saves to backstop the Soaring Eagles to a 3-1 win.
Through six starts this season, Hanson is unbeaten with a 5-0-1 record. She's first nationally in goals-against average (0.33) and save percentage (.986), and is tied for first in shutouts (4).
Hanson and the Soaring Eagles resume United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) play on Saturday, January 18, when Elmira hosts Stevenson at 3:00 p.m.
