For the EC men, Nick Ford '20 helped guide the Soaring Eagles to a sixth consecutive victory and their second of the 2019-20 campaign over a top-15 program. On Saturday evening, Elmira upset No. 15 Oswego State, 4-3, for its first win over the Lakers since 2013-14 and its first road win in Oswego since the 2007-08 season. Ford needed only 19 seconds in the first period to tally the game's first goal, and a mere 31 seconds into the second period, he handed out an assist on an Anthony Parrucci '20 goal that put EC up 3-1.
With two points against the Lakers, the New Lenox, Illinois, native extended his point streak to 12 consecutive games, while notching multiple points for the third time in his last three contests. On the season, the former All-American ranks seventh in the UCHC in points (17), goals (8), and power-play points (9).
Seeking a seventh straight win, the Soaring Eagles will host No. 2 nationally-ranked SUNY Geneseo at the MAC on Tuesday, January 14, at 7:00 p.m.
