Vogel averaged 14.0 points, 4.5 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for Elmira. The junior shot a remarkable 75 percent from the field and 71 percent from three-point range in the two contests. Meanwhile, Vogel kept an impressive 3:1 assist to turnover ratio. The guard paced Elmira with a career-high 19 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals in an 85-74 loss on the road at Utica. He hit on seven of his eight field goal attempts including going 4-for-5 from deep.
On Tuesday at home Vogel finished with nine points, six assists and no turnovers in 37 minutes as the Soaring Eagles upset the Bombers. The junior went 2-for-4 from the field, 1-for-2 from three-point range and a perfect 4-for-4 at the free throw line in the final minute to seal the win for EC.
The Men’s Basketball team returns to the hardwood Tuesday when it hosts Houghton College at 8:00 p.m. in Speidel Gymnasium.
