Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team will look to get into the win column this afternoon as the Soaring Eagles welcome Ithaca College for EC's home opener at 4:00 p.m. at Corning Community College's field.

Home Opener
Today's game marks the first home contest of the 2015 season for the Soaring Eagles.  Since 2003, Elmira has gone 6-6 in home openers. The Purple and Gold have won their last two home opening games, defeating Lycoming College, 11-9, last year, and Morrisville State, 12-9, in 2013.  However, today's game will mark the fourth time since 2003 EC has opened at home against an Empire 8 team, with the last occurrence being in 2011, a home loss to St. John Fisher College.

Last Time Out
The Purple and Gold are coming off an 11-9 loss to Houghton College in their most recent outing. Elmira held two leads in the first half, both by one goal, but the Highlanders would power past EC in the second half to claim their first E8 win.  Moorea Spoljaric '16 led the Soaring Eagles with six goals and an assist while Lindsay Wargo '17 made 12 saves in net.
