Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team will begin their 2015 season tomorrow at Lycoming College. The game is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
Season OpenerTomorrow's game marks the 2015 season opener for the Purple and Gold. Since the 2003 season, the EC women have gone 5-7 in the opening game of each season. However, the Soaring Eagles have won the past three-of-four season openers.
Returning FirepowerThe Soaring Eagles will return their top three scorers from the 2014 season.
Ashton Hogan '15 led the team with 53 points on 45 goals and eight assists while
Moorea Spoljaric '16 was right behind her with 47 points, 41 of which came on goals .
Marissa Mongillo '15 was the third highest scorer last year with 21 points which included a career-high 16 goals.
Between the PipesWith
LeAnna Presler '14 graduated,
Lindsay Wargo '17 will take her place between the pipes for the Soaring Eagles this season. In the 2014 season, Wargo made six appearances, stopping 19 shots with a .487 save percentage.
Looking To Make an ImpactWith a large graduating class of 2014, the EC women have many roles to fill. Newcomers

Jordyn Rousselle '18 will look to make an impact on the offensive end,

Hollie Gravelle '18 will try and fill vacated roles on the defense this season.
Series History vs. LycomingSince the 2000 season, Lycoming has held a 4-2 series advantage over the Purple and Gold. However, the EC women have taken the past two matchups against the Warriors. The most recent was the season opener last season where the EC women won, 11-9.
