Elmira, NY --
Only one day removed from a 13-7 road victory over Alfred University, the Elmira College women's lacrosse team hosts Hartwick College in Empire 8 Conference play on Monday, April 25th, at 5:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Soaring Eagles snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday when they secured their second Empire 8 Conference victory of the season in a 13-7 final at Alfred University on Sunday. The teams traded scores over the first 20 minutes of play; however, EC concluded the half on a 4-1 scoring run to take a 6-4 lead into the intermission. The Purple and Gold left no doubt in the opening minutes of the second half, blitzing the Saxons for five straight goals to take a commanding 11-4 lead. Although Alfred answered with three straight goals, Elmira responded with a pair of goals to cap the scoring in the 13-7 win. Moorea Spoljaric '16 pumped in a game-high seven points on five goals and two assists. Haley Baker '19 added four goals and one helper, while Kelcey Crawford '18 netted her first tally of the season.

Spoljaric Sets Record
It has been a race against the record book all season for senior standout Moorea Spoljaric '16, who entered play on Sunday tied with Katya Outwater '07 for the program's all-time goal scoring mark with 166. It took her just under 15 minutes to pump-in her first goal and break the tie against the Saxons. Spoljaric received the ball as she streaked down the left-wing side, cut from left-to-right through the eight-meter arc and beat Alfred goalie Shannon Gray far-side for goal number 167. The Saugerties, NY, native went on to tickle the twine four more times in Elmira's 13-7 victory to extend her hold on the all-time goal scoring mark to 171. Spoljaric ranks second in the Empire 8 in terms of total goals (53) and total points (62) on the year, while her per game averages are tops in the conference in both categories.

All-Time Series
Elmira holds a 9-7 advantage in the all-time series versus Hartwick. Recent meetings between the feathered foes have been tightly contested, as the Hawks beat the Soaring Eagles 14-11 in overtime last season. EC took the 2014 edition of the rivalry with a late three-goal run to overcome a 15-13 deficit. Spoljaric netted the game-winner with 25 seconds left, giving Elmira the 16-15 victory.

Scouting Hartwick
The Hawks enter Monday's matchup with a 4-9 overall record and a 1-5 mark inside league play. Hartwick has dropped six of its last seven contests, including a 15-2 drubbing at the hands of then-No. 15 St. John Fisher College and a 15-3 loss to Nazareth College. Most recently, the Hawks dropped a pair of lopsided decisions, falling 16-6 to Utica College and 16-4 to the Stevens Institute of Technology this past week. Starring on the offensive end for Hartwick is Lauren Rosenberg, who has scored at least one goal in each game, including a pair of seven-goal outings against Morrisville State and St. Joseph's (LI). The junior attacker, an Empire 8 All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2015, ranks fifth in the conference in points (3.92) and third in goals (3.15) per game. Fellow junior Courtney Coons is second on the team with 37 points, including a team-best 27 assists. In goal for the Hawks is freshman Carleigh Tarala. She has played all 780:00 minutes and has posted a 12.46 goals-against average.
