ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team plays both No. 20-ranked St. John Fisher and SUNY Canton in the final weekend of the 2018 season. The Soaring Eagles will begin the action with a 1:00 p.m. road Empire 8 Conference showdown with the Cardinals on Saturday, April 28, before challenging the Kangaroos the following day at 1:00 p.m. at Campus Field. The home tilt on Sunday will be EC's Class of 2018 Recognition Day.
  
SCOUTING FISHER
  • The nationally-ranked Cardinals own a 14-2 overall record this season and enter Saturday's game riding a nine-game win streak.
  • Their last loss came against No. 25 Stevens Institute of Technology, 11-4, on Saturday, March 31, the team's lone blemish on a 6-1 conference record.
  • Fisher has had a well-rounded team all season, as they lead the E8 in both goals per game (14.38) and goals-against average (6.06).
  • Claire Bollin (31g-17a) and Kelsie Schindler (24g-22a) pace the Cardinals' offense with 48 and 46 points, respectively.
  • Morgan Hayes and Molly Maguire lead the defense, as they both have started at least seven games in goal for the team in 2018.
  • Hayes, a sophomore, paces the pair of goalkeepers in wins (9) and goals-against average (5.03).
 
SCOUTING SUNY CANTON
  • The Kangaroos are 9-6 on the season before their games against Elmira and Oswego State this weekend.
  • Canton had a five-game winning streak halted by E8 member Utica College, 13-9, on Wednesday, April 25.
  • The Roos have done quite well this year on defense, holding their opponents to 7.80 goals per game.
  • Senior defender Amanda Woods has commands Canton's back line, as she paces the team in both ground balls (69) and caused turnovers (45).
  • Freshman Nicole Piskorowski has done well in her first season as the Kangaroos' starting goalie, as she boasts 104 saves, an 8.02 goals-against average and a .471 save percentage.
  • On offense, sophomore Molly Denny paces the Roos with 50 points (37g-13a) on the year.
