Olivia Nystrom '16 paced the women's ice hockey teams with two goals at the Cardinal-Panther Classic, hosted by Middlebury College. The Soaring Eagles came from behind in both contests, beating No. 3 Middlebury by a final of 3-1 and edging No. 9 Gustavus Adolphus, 2-1.

Against the Panthers, Nystrom capped off EC's scoring in the third period, one-timing a pass from Phoebe Piku '16 in the slot past the Middlebury netminder. In the third period against the Golden Gusties, Nystrom broke a 1-1 stalemate by tipping a shot from Kyra McDonald '18 from the left wing inside the near post for the game-winning goal.

On the season, Nystrom is now tied for the team lead with seven goals and is tied for second in points with nine. The senior captain ranks 11th in the ECAC West conference in points scored, fifth in goals and second in short-handed points with three.

The second-ranked Elmira women's ice hockey team will travel to Potsdam, NY, to face the Bears of SUNY Potsdam in ECAC West action this weekend. The two-game series begins with a 7:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, December 5th, and concludes the following afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
