Patrick Tracey '18 concluded the men's tennis season with a 2-0 sweep against Empire 8 Conference foe St. John Fisher College on Sunday at the Murray Athletic Center. In second doubles, he and teammate Chris Konow '18 overcame a 6-5 deficit by winning three consecutive games to beat Fisher's Jacob Zarycki and Adam Moran 8-6.
The second-year talent then registered a historic victory over Zarycki at third flight singles, as the win allowed Tracey to set the program record for wins in a single season. After a close 6-4 win in set one, the Bardonia, N.Y., native toughed out a 7-6 (6) battle in the second set to secure his record-setting 13th singles win of the year.
Tracey finished the 2016 slate with a 13-6 singles record, registering the highest win percentage on the team at .684. Five of his singles wins came inside Empire 8 play, tied for the most on the squad.
