Emma Crocker '21 paced the third-ranked EC women's ice hockey team to an explosive season-opening weekend, as the Soaring Eagles swept a pair of United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) games against Wilkes and King's (Pa.) by a combined 18-0 score. The junior from Abington, Massachusetts, led all scorers with nine points on three goals, including two power-play tallies and six assists.
In a 12-0 rout of Wilkes on Saturday at the Murray Athletic Center, Crocker set a new single-game career-high with a game-best six points (2g-4a). She dished out an assist on the game-winning goal, before depositing her first goal of the year in the second period. She then added to her already impressive total with a power-play goal 19 seconds into the third period. The third-year forward followed with a three-point performance (1g-2a) on Sunday, helping EC topple King's by a 6-0 score. All three points were earned on the power play, including her first-period goal.
Following her incredible weekend on the ice, Crocker ranks first in Division III in points (4.50) and assists (3.00) per game, and is tied for third in goals per game (1.50).
Crocker and the No. 3 Soaring Eagles will look to continue their strong start with a home bout versus their Route 14 rivals from William Smith College on Saturday, November 16, at 3:00 p.m., as part of Elmira's 38th Annual Athletics Alumni Weekend.
