With the goal-scoring efforts of Katie Granato '19, the Soaring Eagles claimed the title at one of the nation's toughest regular-season tournaments – the East-West Hockey Classic – by defeating No. 1/2 Plattsburgh State on Monday, before sweeping Manhattanville on the road over the weekend. In total, EC outscored its opponents 8-1 and logged a pair of shutouts, while extending its win streak to six consecutive games.

Of the eight goals scored by Elmira, five were tallied by Granato, the nation's leading goal scorer. The senior forward was named the East-West Hockey Classic MVP after logging a hat trick against archrival Plattsburgh in the tournament title game. In the series finale at Manhattanville on Saturday, she posted her 10th multi-point game of the season by scoring both goals in a 2-0 victory.

On the national leaderboards, Granato ranks first in goals (19), goals per game (1.27) and power-play goals (8).
