Tina O'Donnell '20 played a significant role for the Soaring Eagles in their 2-1 season-opening victory against King's (Pa.) on Friday evening. Playing on the road in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the senior goalkeeper made an outstanding 16 saves, while surrendering just a single goal, as the Monarchs outshot the Purple and Gold by a 31-to-5 margin. Seven of her stops came in the first quarter, a period in which King's registered a game-high 15 shots. O'Donnell held the opposition off of the board for the final 32:45 to preserve Elmira's one-goal lead.
O'Donnell and the Soaring Eagles will hit the road again on Wednesday, September 4, when EC visits Oswego State for a non-conference matchup at 7:00 p.m.
